What does it take to be an ICT student?

Information Communication Technology or what we call ICT is taught for students so that they’d  be able to know the hardware and software parts of the computer and through this learning, they’d be possibly capable enough to use their skills in the future in terms of technology.

To be an ICT student recquires the skills of being competent to face challenges on taking new lessons and to be a discoverer on new things without the guide of someone else.  You have to be curious on its’ software parts so you can be able to know how to manage things regarding that unit step by step.  It’s not about how good you are, as long as you’ll know the main purpose of learning and that would be the first step of thinking to have the inspiration and to obtain an idea to start accelerating to learn for your own sake.

Has to have the skills and prove that you deserve to be on the same class as anyone would.

My Dream, My Future

Problems in life has to be overpassed so that we can move on to the next and it will serve as a lesson in  handling situations, especially on making desicions.

Ever since, it’s always been my dream to become an accountant with an honest purpose to have a high salary to help on the income of my family.  I came neither from a rich nor poor class of a family but when talking about money the salary of my father is not enough to sustain our monthly  needs but through the help of my eldest brother, we still manage to live every single day.  For my own, I’m not satisfied with life. I want anything more not because of my personal interest but I want my family to experience how great life is if you’re in a higher class.  And I will not  reach that goal without hardwork, so I’m trying to be the best as I can in school even without earning any awards as long as I am having grades that I deserve which is qualified to what course in college I chose.

It is my dream so I will do anything even though some discourages me, I have my family as an inspiration.

CHANGE: It starts with me

 “Changes start in ourselves.”

                I’ve been on Earth for 15 years and yet, nothing in the world has changed.   Government officials are still the same, anomalies that they cannot remove are still there instead it is passed on to generations and it is only technology where the world has changed a lot.   And the rising problem among people is discipline, how would they change if laws are abided and can’t even follow a single bit of a rule?   So as it is, we can’t see progress.  As a local citizen of the Philippines, I want to show everyone the real meaning of life, I mean presenting them examples of progression through showing them changes that starts from me.  It is hard but by encouraging them to follow as what I would do, nothing would be impossible.  And the first thing to do is showing disciplinary actions where anyone can see me and can follow me because they’d know the right thing to do  Without forcing everyone,  they’d be encouraged instead because they are seeing indifferent characteristic which a person should have.  And in the end, true leadership is born and cooperation among others will rise,

                If you see the world as precious as life, learn to change and be the starting point.

Kannawidan Festival

Vigan is known as the heart of Ilocandia by the Philippine Historical Committee because the city is rich in culture and heritage.  Also known as the Festival city of the Philippines since it celebrates different festivals yearly.  And one of the famous festivities is the Kannawidan festival.

Kannawidan festival is usually celebrated right after the fiest of St. Paul, the saint of Vigan, starting at February 1-6.  Every night, there would be various kinds of events where anyone can watch and even join contests conducted by the city officials.  There was the tribal performance of the cultural communities of Ilocos Sur which is fascinating.  They displayed their talents as well as their indigenous costumes.  Partuat ken Patanor Trade Fair showcased the products of the province such as longanisa, bagnet, garlic, bibingka, tinubong and many other foods including handicrafts.  There was  even eating contests of  these delicacies of Ilocos Sur as well as basi drinking contest.  Traditional games were played and bingo as well.There were Sarsuela and Komedya Ilocana which were shown.  Choir and marching band competition was also held.

Yet, it is simple but very special particularly to those of the ilocanos who are very proud to have their products presented which sometimes can only be seen in their home province.  And showing the natural beauties of young ilocanos.  Come and visit the heritage city of the Philippines, where you can see a place like no other.

Reflection

          Third quarter was full of surprises. making drafts none stop. But it was fun because even though there are some part of it that has a wrong grammar, i still had to post it because i was rushing. But actually, ICT  is now one of my favorite subjects because we didn't do a lot this grading period. it was all about tags and making web design and enjoying on typing my drafts. And with making web design was discovering things in the internet. curiosity made it happen.

"Keeping in Mind Our Mother Tongue"

          We may arrive to different places with different languages but the dialect I'v been used to since our childhood years will be kept it forever.

          Being once a child , we were trained to speak with our local dialects through in help of our beloved parents/ guardian. It became our first language before we entered school. And as we grow old, more and more languages is taught for us to communicate well to others. But w still manage to keep our main dialect because we believed that we wouldn't be professionals if we never had it. It made us go to the top. And so we must consider its importance whether we reached our dreams or not. It had a great advantage specially on dealing with other people. We have to keep it in mind wherever we go.    

New Year, New Me!

          We kept on promising to do things every time a year would end and tend to be active just to fulfill it. But do we really give an effort to do t? Or is it just meant to be broken?

          It's been my tradition to have my yearly resolutions but somehow, it is easy for me to forget them because I can't resist to focus on other things. But this year, I didn't prepare anything because I just want to be happy and enjoy my life being with my family, relatives and friends. I don't want to waste my time because someday somehow, unintentionally, I would suddenly change. Let it be God's will and just go with it. I want to feel free but I will know all my limitations.

          They say "New Year, New Me", but all I can say is that just stay who we are right now and let everybody accept the real you. But as early as now, we have to realize or know all the things that we have to change what others feel different about you.

The Essence of Christmas

          Christians observe a religious festival known as "Christmas" celebrated every December 25th of the year. From being popular, virtually all nations observe that day as a public holiday to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.  Christmas means different to different folks, but what is the true essence of Christ's birth?

          Generally, it's a day to show love.  According from the Holy Bible, a chapter which says "For God so loved the World that he gave his only beloved son for our sin". God loves us so much which was then represented by his beloved son.  And with that, it's our responsibility to show love to others not only in the day of Christmas but every single day that God has given us.  Love is the true essence of life because it embodies all the Jesus Christ represents.

          Christmas is a day of sharing. Some folks share food, gifts or  other things that could bring joy to others .  While some share their time to their loved ones especially to those who seldom stay with their family.

          Christmas is a day of reconciliation. Forgiveness normally occurs during this festive season.  Families that were divided come together as one.  The essence of Christmas is to reconcile men to God to let go of hurt that has been meted out to us.

          Christmas is a day of relationships. It's significant that new relationships are built and old relationships are renewed.  Friends find  a way to share love through exchanging gifts.

          Just by showing love, sharing and building new relationships, the essence of Christmas is normally shown.  For it is made to celebrate joy and happiness with no heartaches or heartbreaks.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

          Gender-based discrimination, best known for discrimination towards women and girls.  One of the reasons why women suffer the consequences especially to health.

          Inequality usually arose between men and women wherein most of the time women always undergo to difficult situations.  Men disregards the ability of women not knowing that there are things which are impossible for men to do.  So there is need to educate ourselves to take a correct view of women to redress the injustices done to them in all aspects.  In a family, it won't be complete without a woman, we should admit it, they play a major role in life.  And so we must consider how important they are in a society.  But genuine equality between men and women, boys and girls can only be realised if we undergo the process of a just, fair and there is a humane transformation of our society as a whole.  And of course it is impossible to make it happen if there is no peace and understanding between men and women.  There should be unity to enable women to take their rightful place in activities to improve their economic and political status.

          To build a great, just, fair and humane society, it is of utmost importance to arouse the people to stay as one and promote the equal rights and opportunities for our progress.

Responce to Climate Change

          "Time is Gold", one of the most famous saying or should we say the simplest quotation you would ever hear.  But do we really know the real meaning of it?

           Sometimes, the cause of Global Warming come from natural disasters and usually also from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, population growth as well as the agriculture and industry that replace the forests.  It feels bad because due to this causes it affects the Mother Nature a lot.  It goes first to climate change then falls down to World's destruction and finally the loss of human race.  Climate change is caused by Global Warming wherein it affects more than just a change in the weather, it refers to seasonal changes over a long period of time.  It affects the sea levels, temperature, risks in drought, fire and flood, crops that would wither, wildlife at risk, heat-related illnesses or diseases, seawater becoming more acidic, economic damage and stronger storms and  hurricanes.  So what are we waiting for?  In this very alarming cases, we should learn to apply the 3Rs in every aspects of our life.

          Consider life's importance, make every single second count.  Remember that we lived because of a big responsibility, to give the Earth all the care it needs.

MIRROR! MIRROR!

          Another chapter of our learning has again ended and it surely was fun gaining knowledge that has a connection with the use of the Internet.  Making drafts, posting it in our blogs and lots of html tags.  All in all, it was great because I learned lots of different tags and its uses.  Even though sometimes it's kind of boring when we use the notepad we can still see the good result of it in the end because we see our own amazement especially it's our fist time to encounter "tags".

          Well, the only problem we  encountered is that, the slow Internet connection.  And there was also a time when we were currently posting our drafts when suddenly there was a brownout.  And luckily we already finished it so there was still joy, so we thanked God for that.

          Moving om,  challenges may come for this next grading period but it will not be the hindrance for me to continue going to the next level.  And instead of losing chances, especially when making our drafts, I'll make use of my time wiser with no rushing.

"CHEMERGY: Chemistry and Science Club in Synergy"

          Combined effort being greater than parts of working together as an organization: Chemistry and Science Club in Synergy.

          The best way to be more innovative and sufficient is to make Science and Chemistry merge.  Much more ideas, simpler but better, can be expensive but useful.  It is commendable especially if it helps to Mother Nature's preservation.  Being an Eco-friendly, we should always remember the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) on things using Chemergy as an inspiration from its mission and visions.  From it, life is attainable and things or innovations work faster because of a successful unity.

Not to be Neglected!

          "Promoting Digital Literacy Through English Proficiency"

          It' always been our habit to help ourselves in speaking the language of English.  But it's not enough because through gadgets or through technology today, we can't use this language because some don't understand it . But we must try to use and continue using it so that they would learn to be like us.  And as a student, I would love reading English sentences from books or even in the internet because when I meet new and unfamiliar words it challenges me to be much more effective English speaker.  So I learn a lot from it.

          Enhancing ourselves to be fluent in English is very helpful especially in communicating to foreigners.  Not only in the way we speak to each other but also in communicating to them through the use of internet.  Most likely are facebooks, my space or twitter.  And in the end, we'll see the real essence and the advantage of using English as our number one language in the world.

          English language is truly amazing and very capable in every aspects.  This should be highly recommended to be used to all because it will be a big help particularly to the ones who are searching jobs and other things related to businesses.

Give a Helping Hand To the Poor

               As our population increases, there are parents who can't afford the needs of their children because they can't find a job. Whenever I see street-children when we pass by, I feel bad because they seek help from house to house to sustain their daily needs. And I just want to request you to give them a hand, specially their parents. So that, instead of roaming around, they could go to school . And when they finish their college years, hopefully, there will come a time that they could get a job someday.

               I asked help from you because I know that you can help them. At least a simple job to sustain their needs. And I fully trust you.

Reaction from the SONA of P-NOY

          What is said is to be done no matter how complicated it will be. If your real objective is to help your countrymen, let everyone feel the change. 

          Last July 25, 2011 (Monday) was just an ordinary day for me,even though it was the deliberation of P-NOY's SONA (State of the Nation Address) looking back from the time he started to be as the president, it is really a big disappointment for me knowing that there are still many Filipinos who suffer poverty. In my own observation, nothing differs from what I saw to the previous president until present. There are still corrupt politicians who doesn't deserve to be in the senate. How is that? Are the presidents blind to see them? They already have their Pork Barrel and what I don't understand is that there is still continuous corruption. If only those Pork Barrels were given to the poor, maybe no one is now suffering from poverty. 

          In the scale of 1- 10, I am going to give P-NOY a rate of 3. His hard work is not enough to solve the country's number 1 problem. If he needs to work harder, he has to. The welfare of us Filipinos is in his hands, so if he really cares, he' ll do his best.

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

          "Nothing is possible if the class is noisy", the quotation from a person who once became our teacher before who taught us to be good especially when it comes to our studies.  Years may pass but this will always be a mark of an inspiration to continue striving with less noise and with greater responsibility.  It may be awkward if you hear it once but if you think much further, you'll come yo realize that it is right.

          We are very fortunate that there's a big part of our life wherein our teachers are involved.  I am really thankful to have them.  They are one of the most significant people I really admire the most because what would I  be now if they weren't here.

          Teachers are considered heroes.  Why?  Well, they serve as a paradigm for us to be good person.  Even though they aren't our real parents, they extend a helping hand in times when we are downed by some difficult situations.  That's why I like their good personality because it reflects to what they are right now.
           When we go to school, we don't just learn about computations, correct grammar, etc. , we also learn things which we can apply in our daily living.  Thanks to the teachers who were there and who will still be thereto lead and support us through a better future.

          From beginning until the end, the essence of the knowledge and understanding they've shared will always be remembered because aren't irreplaceable.  They are remarkably great!

MY MODERN DAY HERO

             We are used to believe that heroes are like Batman, Superman, Iron man, etc. And sometimes we don't notice that people around us are much more hard-working than so-called heroes do. They are our modern day heroes, they don't just speak about strength but of how they motivate themselves to help others. And these kind of people should be known for their strong determination.

           I, myself doesn't just ignore people who are pure-hearted and gentle. Unlike any other fiction heroes, they seem to be more deserving. And one of these gentlefolk I really admire the most is my aunt. She sacrificed her own happiness just to help us reach our goals in life. Every time we seek help from her, she is always there to support us in every decisions we make.What's important to her is to help us achieve our dreams because through her service, at least, she had an important role in assisting us in life. She maybe far away from us but she will always in our hearts. For now, the only exchange I can give her is for me to strive harder in school just to tell her that her hard work for us was no waste.

            For making us as her priority made me to be inspired. Through her, she'll be my role model in achieving my dreams. I will prove to her that I can do it and no one can ever change the real hero of my life.

Isulong ang Breast- feeding, Tama, Sapat at Eksklusido

             "Best for babies to nourish and to support their health."

         Basically, breast- feeding is only recommended when babies are born until they turn two but some parents let their child use bottled milk which is not supposed to be. Breast- feeding is way much better because it contains more nutrients than commercial milks. Although commercial milks are nutritious, breast- milk is still better because it has this milk which only comes from mothers who just delivered a baby. And this is colostrum which contains the vitamins and minerals that helps the proper growth and development of the baby. As early as now, we should maintain this as a practice because it is really great for all the babies. You can't just achieve the good health for your baby, it can also help you save money, which only proves that this should be highly recommended to all moms around the world. So why use bottled milk?

       Instead of spending money for bottles and milk coming from stores or supermarkets, why not let your baby drink the one from yours. Give your baby the best for a better health.
